{"id":96045,"date":"2023-11-14T10:00:38","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T05:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=96045"},"modified":"2023-11-14T01:39:35","modified_gmt":"2023-11-13T20:39:35","slug":"hanif-abbasi-acquitted-in-riots-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/regional-news-pakistan\/hanif-abbasi-acquitted-in-riots-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Hanif Abbasi acquitted in riots case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI, Nov 13 (Online): PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi has been acquitted in riots case.<br \/>\nThe court announced the decision after five years of the registration of case in police station city against Hanif Abbasi.<\/p>\n<p>The other accused in the case were Chaudhry Tanvir, Daniyal Chaudhry, Sarfraz  Afzal and Chaudhry Ibrar.<br \/>\nAll other accused except Hanif Abbasi were acquitted from this case.<br \/>\nHanif Abbasi was charged with staging rallies against the arrest of Capt (Retd) Safdar.<br \/>\nThe decision of the case against Hanif Abbasi was reserved two days back.<br \/>\nThe decision of the acquittal plea was announced by civil judge Naveed Akhtar.<br \/>\nRawalpindi police had registered case against Hanif Abbasi in police station city in 2018,<\/p>\n<p>Talking to media men after acquittal, Abbasi said Mian Nawaz Sharif had said this when case was registered against him in 2012 this case is false.  I stood in the court when sentence of 25 years in jail was announced. I kept on making rounds for 11 years in this case. I spent 11 months in jail. <\/p>\n<p>He went on to say he was kept out of election and my daughter was expelled from job.  My younger brother was kept under illegal detention for 11 days.
