{"id":92512,"date":"2023-10-05T02:00:18","date_gmt":"2023-10-04T21:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=92512"},"modified":"2023-10-05T01:05:47","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T20:05:47","slug":"petition-for-contempt-of-court-filed-against-chief-secretary-punjab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/petition-for-contempt-of-court-filed-against-chief-secretary-punjab\/","title":{"rendered":"Petition for contempt of court filed against Chief Secretary Punjab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lahore OCTOBER 04 (Online): A contempt of court petition was filed against Chief Secretary Punjab for not taking a decision on the formation of a judicial commission to investigate Jaranwala tragedy within the prescribed period of law despite order of Lahore High Court (LHC). <\/p>\n<p>Citizen Asher Sarfaraz filed a petition for contempt of court against Chief Secretary Punjab in which Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman was made a respondent in petition. <\/p>\n<p>He took stance that he filed a petition for the formation of judicial commission to investigate Jaranwala tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>Lahore High Court ordered the Chief Secretary to take a decision on pending petition in accordance with law.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the court order, Chief Secretary did not make decision within 15 days.
