Subsidy is likely to be abolished in the gas tariff of domestic consumers, fertilizer and captive power plants. <\/p>\n<p>Summary for hiking gas tariff is likely to be presented in the next meeting of ECC.<\/p>\n<p>The caretaker government has started taking industrial and trade sectors on board before raising gas tariff. Commerce minister and energy minister are taking industrial sector into confidence. <\/p>\n<p>The local production of gas is 3.4 billion square feet per day in the country while one billion square feet gas is being imported daily.<br \/>\nCircular debt of gas has reached the record high level of 2900 billion. <\/p>\n<p>The IMF has put the conditionality of ending gas circular debt to save the country from bankruptcy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, SEP 23 (ONLINE): The care taker government is all set to hike gas tariff under IMF directives.
