LONDON (PNI) Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau exposing Indian hand in state-sponsored murder of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar is tip of the iceberg, a prominent Kashmiri leader said on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
\u201cEmbassies have turned into long arm of rogue Indian state under extremist Hindu Narendra Modi regime in India,\u201d said Fahim Kayani, president Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK. <\/p>\n
Kayani paid tributes to Nijjar who was murdered by agents of Indian government in western Canadian province of B.C. on June 18 in front of a Sikh temple in the city of Surrey. <\/p>\n
Trudeau told Canadian parliament on Monday India was behind the murder of Nijjar, who was a prominent advocate of Khalistan \u2013 a separate homeland for Sikhs in India. <\/p>\n
Trudeau\u2019s government expelled from Canada Pavan Kumar Rai, head of India\u2019s rogue Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), which is South Asian nation\u2019s foreign intelligence agency. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere are likes of Pavan Kumar Rai in every Indian embassy across the globe who harass, intimidate and suppress Kashmiri and Sikh voices,\u201d Kayani said. <\/p>\n
Lauding Trudeau of not succumbing to Indian pressure, Kayani said: \u201cthe Canadian prime minister has shown the way as how to hold India accountable.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThis threat of Indian state to Kashmiris and Sikhs outside the territory of India is not new\u2026 this has been happening for decades and it needs to be put to end. Prime Minister Trudeau has shown the way,\u201d said Kayani, urging the British government to take enhanced measures to ensure safety of Kashmiris and Sikh community members in the UK. <\/p>\n
Kayani said the combination of India\u2019s terror-inflicting National Investigation Agency (NIA) and RAW has become \u201cdangerous for world peace.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThese two organizations are run by rogue elements of Modi\u2019s extremist RSS and BJP,\u201d said Kayani, demanding that these two organizations should be banned internationally. <\/p>\n
Recalling the recent incidents of violence in some parts of the UK, Kayani said: \u201cit is the same elements that world\u2019s largest paramilitary group that is RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) which is exporting these terrorists to countries like Canada, UK, Australia to harass and intimidate Kashmiris and Sikh community members,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Kayani said India was sending RSS terrorists in the garb of students to the UK \u201cwhich has increased insecurity among the Kashmiri and Sikh community members.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThe government of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak must take precaution and cancel visas issued to RSS-affiliated people in the UK\u2026 the RSS is a threat to world peace as it\u2019s a terror-inflicting group,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n
Kayani called on Kashmiri groups across the world to take precautions in the wake of Indian state-sponsored murder of Sikh leader Nijjar. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis moment demands international campaign to expose the brutal face of long arm of Indian state around the world,\u201d Kayani said.<\/p>\n
Ranjit Singh Sarai , General Secretary Self-determination Council: World Sikh Parliament lauded the steps taken by the Canadian government, Sikhs across the world believe Indian state terrorism has once again been exposed and Hindutva extremists must now be held to account for blatant, massive, and systematic breaches of international law, which are now challenging even the sovereignty of other states, not just the national rights of the Sikhs, Kashmiris and others.<\/p>\n
Sarai said “More importantly, it is time to junk India’s relentlessly spread fake narratives about those nations and to implement their right of self-determination, so that enduring security and prosperity can be peaceably achieved in Indian-controlled Punjab, Kashmir, as well as other regions where freedom loving nations have been suppressed by India\u2019s ever growing military machine. It should be noted that India has officially rejected the application of the right of self-determination to such nations under the 1966 International Covenants on Human Rights \u2013 and the UN\u2019s rights monitoring body has repeatedly asked it to withdraw that untenable \u2018reservation\u2019, as it is simply incompatible with international law.” <\/p>\n
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a leading proponent of an ongoing peaceful, democratic Referendum on Punjab’s independence. The Referendum process has received a massive response in the Sikh diaspora, but has been criminalised by the Indian government. He was targeted because the Referendum has demonstrated the huge grassroots support for the independence of the Sikh homeland.
