Under the constitution the tenure of assembly is five years. <\/p>\n<p>It is pertinent to mention here that ministry of law and justice and Election commission had said to the president through a letter in the matter of date for general elections in the country that powers for giving date for election rest with election commission. <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand president has also given proposal to election commission to hold general election on November 09 throughout the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE, SEP 14 (ONLINE): The steps for assigning powers to Election Commission (EC) to give election date have been challenged.
