<\/p>\nLONDON (PNI) Even as Indian occupying forces have enforced graveyard silence in Kashmir, people across the UK on Friday commemorated second death anniversary of Shaheed Syed Ali Geelani.<\/p>\n
Following a call by Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) UK, people held protest demonstrations in Glasgow, Birmingham, Luton ,Manchester, Derby Sheffield, Nelson , Coventry and other cities, demanding respectful burial of Geelani, the icon of Kashmiri resistance against illegal occupation by India.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Geelani was killed in custody by India on Sept. 01, 2021 at his Hyderpora residence where he was put under illegal house arrest by Indian armed forces.<\/p>\n
Later, the Indian marauding forces did not let people to hold a respectful burial of Geelani.<\/p>\n

While India has turned Kashmir into a living hell and has imposed graveyard silence by imprisoning all those who seek freedom, people in the United Kingdom held demonstrations to condemn Indian actions.<\/p>\n
Recalling the sacrifices by Kashmiris, TeK President Fahim Kayani said Geelani was the \u201cepitome of Kashmiri resistance against illegal occupation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShaheed Geelani Sahab lead by example himself by sacrificing his life for the just and genuine cause of freedom from illegal military occupation of Kashmir by India,\u201d Kayani said.<\/p>\n
Emphasizing on discipline in ranks and file of resistance movement, Kayani noted while Kashmiris were forced into silence by Indian gun, \u201cthings will change.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen it in past and it is nothing new for us\u2026 Kashmiris will rise and Indian occupation will be turned into ash,\u201d Kayani said, urging people of Kashmir to follow into the footsteps of Shaheed Geelani.<\/p>\n
In a joint statement, Kashmiri activists including Muhammed Ghalib, Hanif Raja, Nazir Ahmed Qureshi , Syed Tufail Hussain Shah , Mufti Abdul Majeed, Mufti Fazal Ahmed Qadari, Ch Muhammad Sharif, Ch Nasar Iwbal , Raja Azad ,Raja Ali Asghar , Dr Hamad Almushriqi, Muhammad Arif , Bashir Ratvi , Shabir Hussain , Talat Baseer , Shukat Sultan , Ch Muhammad Yasin , Raja Javed Iqbal , Ch Allah Ditta , Shabir Hussain and others paid tributes to Shaheed Geelani on his death anniversary.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeelani Sahab showed us the path to salvation and that is freedom from Indian occupation,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndia has exposed its weakness that it cannot even withstand a dead Kashmiri,\u201d said the Kashmiri activists.<\/p>\n
They said Kashmiris will not bow down before Indian military \u201cbecause we have sacrificed our lives, properties and everything for this beloved cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
