{"id":74513,"date":"2023-04-04T02:00:55","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T21:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=74513"},"modified":"2023-04-04T01:38:43","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T20:38:43","slug":"pm-shehbaz-lashes-out-at-cjp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/pm-shehbaz-lashes-out-at-cjp\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Shehbaz lashes out at CJP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD \u2013 April 3 (ONLINE) As a three-member bench of the Supreme Court summed up proceedings on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed to prevent delay in constitutional timeframe of conduction of polls in Punjab and KPK, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday went head-on at the apex court\u2019s bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial.<\/p>\n<p>After a full day&#8217;s hearing, the Supreme Court (SC) reserved on Monday its verdict on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf&#8217;s (PTI) petition regarding the postponement of polls in Punjab. The verdict will be announced today (Tuesday).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat message do you want to convey by sitting aside a judge bearing serious corruption allegations?\u201d the Prime Minister asked CJP Bandial. He was addressing the session of National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister said he always \u2018sweeps before his own door\u2019 as he talks at the floor of Assembly. He categorically said the government will not accept any judgment passed by three member bench of the apex court. \u201cThe nation will only accept a decision by a full court,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister quoted CJP Bandial\u2019s observation during case\u2019s hearing that those who were jailed now talk on the floor of Assembly. \u201cI wasn\u2019t jailed for any criminal case but for my ideology and cause,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, the premier addressed country\u2019s top judge and told him that it was the duty of government to represent the people of Pakistan.
