{"id":74030,"date":"2023-03-30T20:30:19","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T15:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=74030"},"modified":"2023-03-30T16:35:37","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T11:35:37","slug":"violence-against-journalists-in-court-premises-case-ihc-orders-police-to-take-action-as-per-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/violence-against-journalists-in-court-premises-case-ihc-orders-police-to-take-action-as-per-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Violence against journalists in court premises case: IHC orders police to take action as per law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, MARCH 30 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the police to take action as per law on the journalist\u2019s petition seeking registration of case on the matter of violence against them in court premises. <\/p>\n<p>The Advocate General (AG) Islamabad has supported the plea for registration of case separately on the petition of the journalists.<\/p>\n<p>Police should keep in view the stance of AG Islamabad while taking action. <\/p>\n<p>The journalists petition seeking registration of case against police and assistant commissioner came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by justice Miangul hassan  Aurangzeb here Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>Zahid Asif counsel for the journalists appeared in the court. <\/p>\n<p>The petition has been filed by the journalists including Saqib Bashir, Zeeshan Syed , Shah Khalid and Idress Abbasi.<br \/>\nRizwan Qazi president and Hussain Ahmad secretary of high court journalists association appeared in the court. <\/p>\n<p>AG Islamabad told the court the journalists incident was separate incident, therefore, separate case should be registered against police. Police is protector of citizens. It can not take any action beyond law. <\/p>\n<p>The court remarked it is correct. we ask police to take  action on this petition as per law. AG Islamabad stance has also come. Police has to take action by seeing it. <\/p>\n<p>AG Islamabad told the court first police have to register FIR separately. There is investigation process. The police can give report about whatever role is any one.
