SUKKUR\/ ISLAMABAD\u00a0\u00a0 –\u00a0 Pakistan Democratic Movement chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Saturday rejected the vote of confidence in favour\u00a0of Prime Minister Imran Khan during the National Assembly session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fazl, who also leads Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), also said that the national Assembly session was called over a summary sent by the fake prime minister. He said the summary is not involved in summoning such sessions and all was a drama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe don’t accept today’s Assembly session, nor do we accept the confidence vote,\u201d the JUI-F chief said while speaking to media in Sukkur following the NA session. He said the Constitution clearly stated that the president can summon a session if he believes that the prime minister does not hold majority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis was not a confidence vote. We know who knocked on the doors of each member to ensure they were present, he added while referring to the parliamentarians. Earlier, PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto and PML-N\u2019s Maryam Nawaz also rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s victory after the motion for a vote of confidence was successfully passed in National Assembly. Both claimed that they had exposed the puppet government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking to reporters in Islamabad after a meeting between the alliance, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz lashed out at the PTI for the incident that took place outside the parliament building in which PML-N leaders were allegedly targeted by the ruling party supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryam said that PM Imran Khan’s days are numbered and he is trying to save his rule with whatever means possible. “The vote of confidence is false,\u201d she said, and alleged that the vote was secured at “gunpoint.” She said that ahead of the vote, the parliament lodges had turned into a “bunker” with armed guards patrolling them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryam added that the government has been defeated in the people\u2019s court and it should accept that. She praised Marriyum Aurangzeb for showing courage amid clashes with PTI workers earlier today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that Opposition nominee Yousuf Raza Gilani’s victory in one Senate seat has exposed the puppet system. “We have proved that the prime minister has lost the majority by winning one senate seat.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He claimed that the president has also accepted that the government does not enjoy the majority’s support in the House. “The PDM will now decide for how long the PM, CMs and Speaker will sit on their seats,” he added. The PPP chairman also regretted that the prime minister, who is the leader of the entire House, both government and opposition members, did not condemn the violence that took place outside parliament.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
