LAHORE 16 Nov (Online): We\u2019ve all heard the story of Laila and Majnu but what if we change the genre from romance to murder-mystery?<\/p>\n
Then who is Laila and who is Majnu? Guess we\u2019ll have to find out in Yasir Hussain\u2019s new directorial project starring his wife Iqra Aziz.<\/p>\n
The \u2018Suno Chanda\u2019 actor shared the drama\u2019s first teaser on Instagram on Tuesday. She captioned the post with two questions, \u201cWho actually is this Laila? Who is her majnu [lover]?\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that the drama is coming soon and thanked her team for making her look \u201cnatural yet beautiful\u201d.<\/p>\n
In the teaser, Laila is introduced as a character that\u2019s popular in her area of residence. \u201cJust like France\u2019s perfumes and Bengal\u2019s tigers are well-known, Punjab gali\u2019s Laila is well-known,\u201d says the narrator. Laila is not only known, she is also desired but no one can seem to tell who is her majnu. The screen shows her next to different men as the narrator asks, \u201cBut there are two questions, first, who is Laila\u2019s majnu?\u201d<\/p>\n
The plot seems to become clearer with the second question and what appears to be all the men she was seen with being interrogated by the authorities, \u201cAnd second, where is Laila?\u201d<\/p>\n
We also catch a glimpse of Hussain at the end of the clip, his role unclear. Perhaps an investigator?<\/p>\n
Actor Zara Noor Abbas dropped down in the comment section to congratulate Hussain on his directorial debut.<\/p>\n
Actors Ahsan Khan, director Abu Aleeha and actors Rabya Kulsoom and Faysal Quraishi re-shared the teaser on their Instagram stories and lauded the team.<\/p>\n
The \u2018Javed Iqbal\u2019 actor told Images earlier that Aik Thi Laila is being produced by Hina Amaan and features Quraishi, Gul-e-Rana, Hasan Ahmed, Nayyar Ejaz, Faiza Iftikhar and Fareeha Jabeen.<\/p>\n
He also revealed that it is scheduled for release in October.<\/p>\n
On interacting with his wife in a professional setting, Hussain said, \u201cShe is a wonderful actor and a great person to work with.\u201d He added that this is \u201cany director\u2019s dream cast\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
