Lahore, Oct 31 (Online): The Punjab government has decided to form a fact-finding committee to find out the reasons behind the incident of Sadaf Naeem, a female reporter of the TV channel.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet Committee on Law and Order has expressed regret over the martyrdom of journalist Sadaf Naeem. <\/p>\n
Raja Basharat said that for the prevention of such sad incidents safety of journalists should be ensured in the future, media played a positive role.
\nThe Chief Secretary also expressed his heartfelt sorrow over the incident of the lady reporter and said that the government is in touch with the bereaved family. <\/p>\n
The committee will include officers from the concerned departments and will submit its report soon. <\/p>\n
This was decided in a meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Law and Order held at the Civil Secretariat. <\/p>\n
Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Basharat Raja presided over the meeting from Rawalpindi via video link. <\/p>\n
Chief Secretary Punjab Abdullah Khan, IG Police Faisal Shahkar and concerned officers also attended. <\/p>\n
The cabinet committee expressed grief over the martyrdom of Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem and the participants also recited Fatiha for the deceased. <\/p>\n
Chairman Committee Muhammad Basharat Raja directed that prevention of such sad incidents in future. <\/p>\n
He said that Chairman Imran Khan himself went to the house of late Sadaf Naeem and expressed his condolences to the family. <\/p>\n
A relief package has already been announced by the Punjab government. He said that the media played a positive role in this incident which is commendable.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan said that Sadaf Naeem death was a tragic incident. <\/p>\n
The Punjab government is in touch with the bereaved family. The notification of the committee will be done soon. <\/p>\n
