ISLAMABAD 18 Sep (Online): Upcoming drama Pinjra, starring Hadiqa Kiani, Omair Rana and Aashir Wajahat, honours late screenwriter Asma Nabeel\u2019s work who also wrote scripts for dramas such as \u2018Khuda Mera Bhi Hai\u2019 and \u2018Khaani\u2019. The show\u2019s plotline deals with the subject of parenting.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Rana shared the teaser on his Instagram account captioned, \u201cNothing is greater than the responsibility of raising a child. Here we go. Bismillah. The next one to hit the air soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that it was an ode to Nabeel with the help of a great ensemble cast that includes Kiani, Sunita Marshall, Wajahat, Zhalay Sarhadi and \u201cmore of the greats\u201d to be revealed in other teasers, \u201cespecially the lovely kids\u201d.<\/p>\n

The show is directed by Najaf Bilgrami and produced by Shazia Wajahat under the banner of Showcase Productions. The first look at the drama introduces the family and the voiceover by Kiani seems to suggest that though all kids are supposed to be equal in their parent\u2019s eyes, it doesn\u2019t always end up being that way. And despite the mother wanting her kids to fulfil their dreams unlike herself, there is visible tension in the family as there\u2019s screaming, smashing things and discord around the end of the clip.<\/p>\n

Wajahat also shared the teaser on her Instagram account and wrote, \u201cBismillah. In the loving memory of our beautiful friend Asma Nabeel. Pinjra coming soon.. A Showcase Production.\u201d<\/p>\n

The producer stated that this show has been made with a lot of love and hard work. \u201cEveryone involved, from the cast and the entire team, gave their heart and soul to this serial.. The message in the play is a strong one and we hope that we are able to convey it across in a positive way,\u201d she added, tagging the team.<\/p>\n

She concluded by addressing the late filmmaker and said, \u201cHope we make you proud and smile up there Asma as I remember how passionate you were about this and kept writing till the end.. Miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
