{"id":5624,"date":"2021-02-01T13:44:46","date_gmt":"2021-02-01T13:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=5624"},"modified":"2021-02-01T13:45:09","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T13:45:09","slug":"pm-approves-solarization-of-tube-wells-in-balochistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/pm-approves-solarization-of-tube-wells-in-balochistan\/","title":{"rendered":"PM approves solarization of tube wells in Balochistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday approved a mega project to solarize tube wells in Balochistan to provide uninterrupted electricity and overcome power sector losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision was made in a meeting chaired by the prime minister and also attended by Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and relevant federal and provincial ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solarization of tube wells would not only provide uninterrupted power supply to the farmers but also help overcome the losses in power transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prime minister directed the Power Division and provincial government to present a comprehensive strategy to accomplish the project. Moreover, he also called for defining the timelines for execution of the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was told that despite a subsidy worth billions of rupees for tube wells by the government, the farmers in the province still faced difficulties which also increased the circular debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the losses to the power sector were borne by the whole country, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the prime minister called for early resolution of the matter as judicious use of the subsidy was government\u2019s priority.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday approved a mega project to solarize tube wells in Balochistan to provide uninterrupted electricity and overcome power sector losses.
