{"id":55403,"date":"2022-08-20T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2022-08-20T07:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=55403"},"modified":"2022-08-20T02:50:21","modified_gmt":"2022-08-19T21:50:21","slug":"shanaka-leads-20-man-sri-lanka-squad-for-asia-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/latest-sports-news\/shanaka-leads-20-man-sri-lanka-squad-for-asia-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Shanaka leads 20-man Sri Lanka squad for Asia Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colombo, Aug 19 (AFP\/APP): Sri Lanka Friday named a 20-man squad led by Dasun Shanaka for the Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament starting later this month in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, but shifted to the UAE due to political turmoil and the economic crisis in the cricket-crazy island nation.<\/p>\n<p>Sri Lanka has witnessed months of food and fuel shortages, blackouts and runaway inflation in the wake of its worst financial crisis on record.<\/p>\n<p>Sri Lanka play their opening match against Afghanistan in Dubai on August 27.
