{"id":54299,"date":"2022-08-06T08:30:12","date_gmt":"2022-08-06T03:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=54299"},"modified":"2022-08-06T03:20:41","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T22:20:41","slug":"ecp-rebuffs-fawad-chaudhrys-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/ecp-rebuffs-fawad-chaudhrys-allegations\/","title":{"rendered":"ECP rebuffs Fawad Chaudhry\u2019s allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday rebuffed the statement of former minister Fawad Chaudhry in which he claimed that the commission did not accept their resignations.<\/p>\n<p>An ECP spokesman categorically said that the claim of Fawad Chaudhry was baseless and absurd.<\/p>\n<p>He said the former Deputy Speaker Qasim Soori did not forward any resignations to the ECP.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesmen added that the speaker of National Assembly had forwarded the resignations to ECP &#8211; after which the ECP notified the by-polls proceedings. <\/p>\n<p>The ECP had issued the by-polls schedule according to the law, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The statement clarified that the election commission was bound to hold by-polls on any seat within 60 days of the acceptance of resignation. <\/p>\n<p>The ECP would do its lawful duty by announcing the schedule of by elections within specified timeframe, if NA speaker forwarded the resignations to ECP, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday rebuffed the statement of former minister Fawad Chaudhry in which he claimed that the commission did not accept their resignations.
