LONDON (PNI) Islamophobia is a reality and the resolution adopted by the UN against it is a welcome step but strategy to counter it \u201cis need of the hour,\u201d said Fahim Kayani, a Kashmiri Leader.<\/p>\n
Lauding Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for his efforts to raise awareness anti-Islam hatredness, Kayani, who leads Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, said \u201cIslamophobia is not rampant only in the western world but it is state-sponsored by India in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIoJK).\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPrime Minister Imran Khan has led huge campaign to inform the world that our religion i.e. Islam is a peace-loving religion,\u201d said Kayani.<\/p>\n
The adoption of the resolution against islamophobia is result of Prime Minister Khan\u2019s efforts, he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what is now important is that UN along with the OIC should prepare a strategy to counter Islamophobia; let us make Islamophobic acts punishable under international law,\u201d he suggested.<\/p>\n
Slamming the fascist regime in India, Kayani said Islamophobia is state-sponsored in IIoJK.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is not mere colonization of IIoJK by India but the structure of administration and the regimes imposed on Kashmiris is Islamophobic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
It is by design, said Kayani, \u201cthat India has occupied the Muslim-majority region by radical Hindu supremacist military.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAlmost all the police and civil administrators posted by India in IIoJK are radical Hindu supremacists. Why? Because India is engaged in demographic terrorism in IIoJK and the radical Hindu supremacist officers carry out such illegal changes in IIoJK according to the agenda of Hindu supremacist regime in India,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The TeK UK leader urged the UN to take cure from the Pakistan and the OIC-sponsored resolution and hold India accountable.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndia cannot be given free passage,\u201d he said. \u201cThe resolution against Islamophobia is one more weapon against India\u2019s war crimes in IIoJK. If we use it well, we can free innocent people from India\u2019s fascist designs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Referring to Islamophobia in the West and Europe, Kayani hailed the Muslim lawmakers in the UK including Dr. Afzal Khan, Imran Hussain, Naz Shah, Yasmin Qureshi, Saeeda Warsi, Muhammad Yasin, Khalid Mahmood, Tahir Ali, Zarah Sultana, Shabana Mahmood, Aspana Begum, Lord Wajid, Lord Qurban and others who played a vital role in highlighting that \u201cIslamophobia is a type of racism.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must not forget the efforts of Saeeda Warsi when she resigned as a minister on Palestine issue and took the battle to general public and announced that \u2018Islamophobia has passed the dinner-table test\u2019,\u201d Kayani recalled.<\/p>\n
Dr Afzal Khan, said Kayani, \u201ctook this campaign to European Parliament and shook the conscience of European lawmakers on the existence of Islamophobia in West and the Europe and continues this battle now in British parliament\u201d<\/p>\n
