ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Friday said that there is a dire need to expand tax network to achieve economic progress in a proper manner.<\/p>\n

The people of Pakistan are hesitating to enter tax net, he said while talking to a private television channel.<\/p>\n

He said, we will have to bring drastic changes in federal board of revenue system.<\/p>\n

Lauding the policies of ministry of finance and State Bank of Pakistan, he said both the institutions had made efforts to improve growth rate.<\/p>\n

Tax collection, he said has increased from 3700 billion rupees to 6100 billion rupees.<\/p>\n

In reply to a question, he said the focus should be given on reducing expenditure and imports.<\/p>\n

He said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), government has decreased the circular debt in short period of time. About transparency of government\u2019s welfare schemes, he said, Ehsaas programe has been digitalized for better working.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
