Faisalabad \u2013 January 3 (ONLINE): Federal Minister for information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said Monday that negotiations with the International Monitory Fund (IMF) had been concluded and parliament\u2019s approval for the Finance bill was also expected till mid-January.<\/p>\n
Talking to the reporters in Faisalabad on Monday, the minister said that the country was politically and economically stable at present and the much-talked finance bill would get parliament\u2019s approval by mid-January.<\/p>\n
\u201cApproval of mini-budget would reduce dollar\u2019s value [against rupee] and prices of basic commodities have already started to slash down\u201d information minister said, adding that prices of exported goods were also expected to decrease in coming days.<\/p>\n
Talking about political challenges for government ahead, Fawad Chaudhry said political parties should be talking about reforms such as electoral reforms, the appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief and judicial reforms. \u201cAs far as Fazlurehman\u2019s long march is concerned, he is free to do so\u201d he said, adding that there was a need to overcome political bitterness in country.<\/p>\n
He said that the government will welcome the Opposition’s suggestions for amendments in the accountability law, reforms in the judiciary and added that political parties agreed with the government on more than two-third of electoral reforms proposed.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, religious extremist parties are gaining popularity and it is a dangerous alarm for the nation\u201d he said, referring to JUI-F\u2019s victory in recent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s local government polls.<\/p>\n
Fawad Chaudhry said that parliament\u2019s ruckus degraded politicians in public perceptions. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was working to carry out across the board accountability in country.<\/p>\n
