Autonomous local government system was necessary for the integrity and stability of Pakistan. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will take recourse to law and judiciary against the new local government law of Sindh.\u201d Asad Umar announced, adding that federal government was trying to ensure that direct taxes are not levied on daily life items. <\/p>\n<p>Asad Umar, while criticizing Sindh\u2019s provincial government for wheat theft scandal said that we are waiting for the answer as to who the rats were. He said that issue will be taken to National Assembly. \u201cWe will also take legal action against the wheat theft.\u201d He added.<\/p>\n<p>Talking about the vaccination process of against Coronavirus, the minister said 71.5 million people were vaccinated till December 31. Federal government spent Rs 250 billion from its budget on vaccination. He said that the federation provided vaccines for every citizen without any discrimination. <\/p>\n<p>Talking about allegations that Sindh was barred from buying vaccines, Asad Umar asked whether which law prevented Sindh from buying vaccines. \u201cWhat is the law about which even legal experts do not know? If there is any such law, we will abolish it\u201d He clarified.<\/p>\n<p>He warned that there were clear signs that the fifth wave of Omicrown was about to begin. \u201cAll citizens should wear masks and strictly follow the SOPs\u201d said the planning minister.<\/p>\n<p> Criticizing Sindh\u2019s local government law, Asad Umar said that there was a difference between urban and rural in the constitution. \u201cIf the powers do not reach the local level then the people will not get their rights.
