Islamabad \u2013 December 14 (Online): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain on Tuesday informed the media that Asad Umar and Zubaida Jalal will visit Gawadar to sort out the issue of fishermen protesting there.
\nAccording to details, Fawad was briefing the newsmen about the decisions taken in meeting of federal cabinet held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.
\n\u201cPrime Minister has already taken notice of the matter and directed for stern action in this regard.\u201d Fawad said, adding that a 700 billion rupees development package has been announced by the federal government for southern Balochistan.
\nOn the issue of Electronic Voting Machines, the Minister for Information said Ministry of Science and Technology is ready to provide Electronic voting machines to the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said all political parties should play their positive role on the issue of electronic voting.
\nFawad Chaudhry said the Election Commission of Pakistan should issue tenders for the Electronic Voting Machines. Prices of all essential food items are low in Pakistan except tea as compared to other countries of the region.
\nThe Information Minister said Special Assistant on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan gave a briefing on preventive measures regarding new Corona variant, Omicron.
\n\u201cThe cabinet emphasized the need to increase vaccinations, maintaining social distance and wearing masks. The Cabinet was informed that, at present, twenty million people in Pakistan have not been vaccinated with second dose of Corona Vaccine.\u201d Fawad said, while informing reporters on issues cabinet meeting\u2019s proceedings.
\nThe Information Minister said Cabinet approved amendment in bilateral air route between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
\nThe decision will reduce both air distance and travel costs. The Cabinet also allowed Kazakh Air Company to operate in Pakistan.
\nThe decision will enable direct air travel between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and help boost bilateral trade.
\nTo promote trade between Pakistan and Central Asian countries, the Cabinet directed the Aviation Division to start work on finalizing air travel agreements with all Central Asian countries.
\nThe Information Minister said the forum approved amendment to air travel agreement between Pakistan and Iraq.
\nThe decision will increase number of commercial flights between Pakistan and Iraq.
