However, they demanded of the government to support all types of exports of Pakistani handmade carpets to the world market. <\/p>\n<p>They said that they have urged Prime Minister Imran Khan a number of times for solving solving carpet sector\u2019s problems to increase its exports. \u201cThe prime minister was making every effort to increase exports. We want him to play a key role in solving the long-standing problems of the handloom carpet industry,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n<p>Pakistan\u2019s handmade carpet products had a unique identity around the world; therefore, manufacturers and exporters, who had been working for decades, were emotionally attached to it despite unfavorable conditions. \u201cDespite having small resources, our carpet exporters are taking all steps to compete with their competitors, especially India,\u201d they added. <\/p>\n<p> The joint statement said that the handloom carpet industry can also provide employment to people in rural areas at their doorsteps.<br \/>\n It urged the government to assign special tasks to all Pakistani embassies across the globe to help exporters promote made in Pakistan products. <\/p>\n<p> They urged the government to appoint commercial attaches in Pakistani Missions abroad with a special task to help increase Pakistani exports in the international market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lahore-December 05(Online): The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) on Sunday said that government is responsible to take concrete steps for increasing country\u2019s exports in the international markets.
