{"id":27429,"date":"2021-11-20T07:00:39","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T02:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=27429"},"modified":"2021-11-20T17:01:44","modified_gmt":"2021-11-20T12:01:44","slug":"ead-pide-sign-mou-to-enhance-collaboration-in-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/ead-pide-sign-mou-to-enhance-collaboration-in-research\/","title":{"rendered":"EAD, PIDE sign MoU to enhance collaboration in research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP):Ministry of Economic Affairs and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for enhancing collaboration in the field of research and public policy analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mian Asad Hayauddin witnessed the signing of MoU between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) Islamabad, said a press release issued here.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU was signed by Zulfiqar Haider, Additional Secretary, EAD and Vice Chancellor PIDE, Dr Nadeem-ul-Haq.<br \/>\nSecretary, EAD and Vice Chancellor PIDE, Dr Nadeem-ul-Haq acknowledged the importance of developing linkages of academia in policy making process and need for a comprehensive analysis of Foreign Economic Assistance in Pakistan.<br \/>\nBy signing the MOU both sides are agreed to promote collaboration in the field of research and public policy analysis with a particular focus on foreign aid and its effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with the EAD, \u2018Foreign Aid Effectiveness Unit\u2019 will be established in PIDE. The Unit will conduct research on topics related to foreign economic and technical assistance to Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>It will examine the economics of Foreign Economic Assistance by exploring the role of International Finance Institutions, debt management, aid volatility and their consequences for Pakistan\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>It will help the Ministry of Economic Affairs in evidence-based decision making and set development priorities for short, medium and long-term commitments.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary Economic Affairs and Vice Chancellor PIDE agreed to maintain a regular and reasonable contact and engage in discussions, events and conferences regarding research areas pertaining to this MoU.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP):Ministry of Economic Affairs and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for enhancing collaboration in the field of research and public policy analysis.
