New Delhi, November 02 (ONLINE): Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli faced hateful trolling after he recently denounced the abuses hurled against his Muslim teammate Mohammed Shami following India\u2019s defeat to Pakistan.
\nCalling the haters \u2018spineless\u2019 people, Kohli said that attacking someone over their religion is \u2018the most pathetic thing that a human being can do\u2019.
\nEver since he made the statement denouncing communal abuses, Kohli has been at the receiving end of hateful trolling on Twitter by Hindutva trolls on social media. Some are even issuing rape threats to his 10-month-old daughter, Vamika.
\nOn the other hand, some Hindutva groups claimed that the account that has openly threatened Kohli\u2019s daughter is of a Pakistani.
\nHowever, fact-checker and Co-founder of Alt News, Mohammed Zubair confirmed that the Twitter user who goes by username \u2018@Criccrazygirl\u2019 is a Hindutva troll from Hyderabad city of India.
\nHe tweeted, \u201cLol nice try to distance yourself. The account @Criccrazyygirl is not from Pakistan but a Right Wing troll from Hyderabad. His earlier accounts were : @Criccrazyygirl, @ramanheist & @pellikuturuhere. Here, unique \u2018data-user-id\u2019 (1386685474182369290) is same for all 3 accounts\u201d.
\nThe Twitter account of the abuser has now been deleted and shows \u2018unavailable\u2019 on the micro-blogging site.
\nPeople on social media have condemned such a disgusting act and are even coming out in support of Virat Kohli. Many are even requesting the Hyderabad city police to take action against the abuser.
\nOne social media user tweeted, \u201calso tagging @CPHydCity @TelanganaDGP @hydcitypolice @KTRTRS @KTRoffice Sir, as pointed by @zoo_bear a fake user from HYD @Criccrazyygirl is threatening to rape Indian Captain @imVkohli daughter(10 month old). Please take action against the potential \u201cpedophilia\u201d if true.\u201d
\nAfter India\u2019s defeat in ICC Men\u2019s World Cup 2021 against Pakistan, Mohammad Shami was abused and trolled brutally on social media platforms. Hundreds of messages were left on Shami\u2019s Instagram account saying he was a \u201ctraitor\u201d and should be thrown out of the Indian team.
\nScores of people including Shami\u2019s fans and even Virat Kohli condemned the abuse and backed the bowler. In his statement, Virat said, \u201cThere is a good reason why we are playing on the field and not some bunch of spineless people on social media that have no courage to actually speak to any individual in person.\u201d
\n\u201cThis is the lowest level of human form, attacking someone over religion is the most pathetic thing human being can do. Never thought of discriminating on basis of religion. That is a very sacred and a personal thing and that should be left there. Our brotherhood and friendship can\u2019t be shaken\u2026 and these things can\u2019t infiltrate.
