ISLAMABAD, Sep 09 (APP):Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bahria University to create awareness and promote tax culture in university students.<\/p>\n
In line with the vision of prime minister for promoting taxation culture in the country, a special signing ceremony of MoU between Bahria University, Islamabad and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was held at Bahria University, Islamabad, said a press release issued by the FBR here.<\/p>\n
The MoU was signed by Bahria University Registrar Commodore Retired Shafqat Azad and FBR Chief FATE Tehmina Aamer.<\/p>\n
The MoU is aimed to promote tax culture and tax awareness to the students of Bahria University.
\nIt shall serve to foster positive taxation culture and awareness among students and teachers through different sets of activities, skills and experiential learning for making them responsible citizens.<\/p>\n
The training sessions will also aim to enable the youth to identify the incidents of tax evasion in their neighborhood and report to tax authorities to discourage this malpractice.<\/p>\n
The FBR will educate and train students and teachers through taxation syllabus, training sessions and seminars.
\nAccording to signed MoU, Bahria University will provide access to FBR for conduct of training and awareness activities in all the campuses of the university.<\/p>\n
This MoU will be applicable for three years.
\nOn the occasion, Shafqat Azad thanked FBR for introducing this idea of promoting tax culture among youth of the country.<\/p>\n
He expressed that the training sessions will enlighten the students about the necessity of tax payment which will make them tax compliant citizens.
\nThe FBR has decided to launch countrywide awareness sessions through seminars and training sessions to promote tax culture which will help to increase the number of taxpayers and revenue for the country.<\/p>\n
The ceremony was also attended by FBR Secretary FATE Rashid Javed Rana and Secretary PR Adnan Akram Bajwa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
