{"id":16308,"date":"2021-08-26T15:55:17","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T10:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=16308"},"modified":"2021-11-09T15:16:13","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T10:16:13","slug":"tapi-to-benefit-region-with-afghanistan-alone-to-get-1bln-transit-royalty-fm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/tapi-to-benefit-region-with-afghanistan-alone-to-get-1bln-transit-royalty-fm\/","title":{"rendered":"TAPI to benefit region with Afghanistan alone to get $1bln transit royalty: FM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ASHGABAT (Turkmenistan), Aug 26 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said implementation of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI) was beneficial for the entire region, with Afghanistan alone to get $1 billion as transit fee and royalty.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to the media following his meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the foreign minister said the project was expected to create 2,000 new employment avenues with immense opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The foreign minister mentioned that the TAPI project was discussed in detail with the Turkmen president, wherein he reiterated Pakistan\u2019s commitment to enhance \u201ceconomic connect\u201d through various projects including TAPI.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed satisfaction that the recent views expressed by Afghanistan showed the country\u2019s intent to favour the implementation of TAPI project.<\/p>\n<p>Qureshi mentioned the warm sentiments expressed by the President of Turkmenistan for Pakistan which had recognized the independence and respected its sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>On Afghanistan\u2019s evolving situation, he said Pakistan emphasized on the proposal of collective efforts of neighbouring countries to find a way out to peace .<\/p>\n<p>Any instability would have a negative impact on Pakistan and other neighbours, he added.<\/p>\n<p>He said in near future, convening of a meeting of foreign ministers from neighboring states was under consideration to discuss the Afghan situation.<\/p>\n<p>He said Pakistan and Turkmenistan would continue collaboration with special representatives from both sides to hold meetings on strengthening ties.<\/p>\n<p>President Gurbanguly welcomed Foreign Minister Qureshi and remarked that Turkmenistan considered Pakistan an important country.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed that Turkmenistan was ready to further strengthen its ties with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interests.
