{"id":1603,"date":"2020-11-19T14:13:21","date_gmt":"2020-11-19T14:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=1603"},"modified":"2020-11-19T14:13:22","modified_gmt":"2020-11-19T14:13:22","slug":"pakistan-to-cultivate-way-long-benefits-from-construction-of-dams-khusro-bakhtyar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/latest-business-news\/pakistan-to-cultivate-way-long-benefits-from-construction-of-dams-khusro-bakhtyar\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan to cultivate way long benefits from construction of Dams: Khusro Bakhtyar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ISLAMABAD, : The National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects (NCC-FFP) forum on Thursday reviewed progress of the development projects of Water Sector funded by World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, USA, France, Germany, Saudi Fund, Kuwait, and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, 15 foreign-funded projects in Water Sector amounting to US$ 3,239 million are under implementation, said a press release issued by Ministry of Economic Affairs here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar chaired the meeting of National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects (NCC-FFP) pertaining to Water sector (Federal) at Ministry of Economic Affairs here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources, Planning Commission of Pakistan, member Water of WAPDA, representatives of PM\u2019s Office, Finance Division and Provincial P&amp;D Departments and Boards of Revenues attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister Bakhtyar said that the potential of ongoing hydropower and water sector development projects are essential for power generation at affordable rates and sustainable development in our economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further highlighted that the incumbent government is focusing on construction of major dams which would fulfill our needs for water, food and energy security and in view of way long benefits towards stabilizing the economy of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister directed the line departments to fast track implementation of the projects and prompt battledress of issues for expeditious execution of projects in water sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He especially emphasized on the&nbsp;projects including Dasu Hydropower, Tarbela 5th extension and Warsak Hydro-power Project and set the timeliness to resolve the bottlenecks to expedite the process of implementation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, : The National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects (NCC-FFP) forum on Thursday reviewed progress of the development projects of Water Sector funded by World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, USA, France, Germany, Saudi Fund, Kuwait, and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).
