{"id":13275,"date":"2021-07-08T11:08:06","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T11:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=13275"},"modified":"2021-11-09T01:56:44","modified_gmt":"2021-11-08T20:56:44","slug":"free-dynamic-media-vital-for-strengthening-democracy-fawad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/free-dynamic-media-vital-for-strengthening-democracy-fawad\/","title":{"rendered":"Free, dynamic media vital for strengthening democracy: Fawad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday said that free, active and dynamic media was essential for the strengthening of democracy and the promotion of democratic norms.<\/p>\n<p>In his congratulatory message to the newly elected President of Parliamentary Reporters Association ( PRA) Siddique Sajid, Vice President Ahmad Nawaz Khan, Secretary General Asif Bashir Chaudhry and other office bearers the minister said their election was a sign of the journalist community\u2019s confidence in them.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government firmly believed in the fundamental, democratic and constitutional right to freedom of expression.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said the PRA\u2019s role in the coverage of proceedings of National Assembly and Senate sessions was commendable.<\/p>\n<p>The solution to the problems being faced by the journalists, their welfare, security and protection of rights were among our government\u2019s priorities, said the minister.<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhry Fawad expressed the hope that newly elected office bearers of PRA would play their role for the welfare of the journalist community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday said that free, active and dynamic media was essential for the strengthening of democracy and the promotion of democratic norms.
