{"id":125332,"date":"2026-09-23T22:13:47","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T17:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=125332"},"modified":"2026-09-23T22:13:47","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T17:13:47","slug":"sherry-rehman-calls-for-exemplary-punishment-in-jhangi-syedan-child-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/sherry-rehman-calls-for-exemplary-punishment-in-jhangi-syedan-child-murder-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Sherry Rehman calls for exemplary punishment in Jhangi Syedan child murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman has strongly condemned the tragic incident involving the alleged rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Jhangi Syedan, terming it a heinous act against humanity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In a statement, Senator Sherry Rehman welcomed the timely arrest of the accused by the police and called for awarding him exemplary punishment in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">She said strict implementation of existing laws was essential to ensure the protection of girls and children from violence and abuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Senator Sherry Rehman expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, saying that she shared their grief and that the parents should not be left alone in their hour of sorrow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">She appealed to the court to ensure an expeditious trial of the case and provide justice to the bereaved family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cZero tolerance for crimes against children is the only way forward,\u201d she said, adding that every segment of society must play its role in protecting children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">She stressed the need to raise awareness among parents and teachers to help prevent incidents such as the Jhangi Syedan tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerpetrators of such heinous crimes deserve no leniency.
