ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (APP): The Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), marked International Human Rights Day 2025 at the Prime Minister\u2019s House in Islamabad, bringing together ambassadors, representatives of United Nations agencies, international non-governmental organizations, civil society groups, and senior government officials.<\/p>\n
The event reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s continued commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights across all segments of society.<\/p>\n
This year, Human Rights Day was observed under the theme \u201cHuman Rights: Our Everyday Essentials,\u201d<\/em> underscoring that human rights are integral to daily life and form the foundation of an equitable, inclusive, and just society.<\/p>\n Addressing the gathering, Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasized that human rights are central to democratic governance and social cohesion. He highlighted the government\u2019s ongoing initiatives to strengthen legal protections for vulnerable groups, enhance access to justice, and promote equal opportunities for all citizens.<\/p>\n \u201cHuman rights are not abstract ideals; they are lived realities. Upholding them in every sphere of life ensures dignity, safety, and equality for all,\u201d the minister said, calling for collective commitment to translating these principles into practice.<\/p>\n Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment at the Workplace (FOSPAH) Ms. Fauzia Viqar highlighted the critical link between human rights, women\u2019s protection, and workplace safety.
