Islamabad\/Dhaka, December 6, 2025: A delegation of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, comprising HEC officials and representatives of 15 Pakistani universities, has concluded its academic visit to Bangladesh, where it launched Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and held education exhibitions at different universities to highlight academic and research opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The 12-day academic mission ended with the delegates visiting the University Grants Commission (UGC) headquarters in Dhaka and holding a detailed meeting with Chairman UGC Prof. SMA Faiz alongside UGC members, including Prof.\u00a0Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Prof.\u00a0Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Prof.\u00a0Md. Saidur Rahman, Prof.\u00a0Masuma Habib, and\u00a0Secretary\u00a0UGC Md. Fakhrul Islam\u00a0and others.<\/p>\n

During the discussion,\u00a0Project Director HEC\u00a0Mr. Jehanzeb Khan highlighted\u00a0the\u00a0key areas of potential cooperation in education and research, including the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, between the higher education institutions of the two countries.\u00a0He presented details of the 500 fully-funded scholarships available to Bangladeshi students at the undergraduate and doctoral levels.<\/p>\n

Prof.\u00a0Faiz noted, \u201cUGC is continuously working to ensure quality higher education in Bangladesh. Pakistan has made significant progress in higher education and is home to several renowned universities. Enhanced cooperation with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan will create new opportunities in research, student exchange, and academic excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The visit was marked by successful conduct of Pakistan Higher Education Expo 2025 and the delegation\u2019s outreach activities in the University of Dhaka; Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Sylhet; Southern University, Chittagong; Rajshahi University, Rajshahi, and the\u00a0University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The Expos\u00a0aimed\u00a0to serve as vibrant knowledge-sharing platforms, enabling Bangladeshi students to explore academic pathways, interact with representatives of top Pakistani universities, and gain firsthand insights into study opportunities in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The academic endeavor received\u00a0exceptionally warm response from the Bangladeshi\u00a0authorities and\u00a0public. People from every walk of life,\u00a0including students, educators, parents, professionals, and community members,\u00a0visited the\u00a0exhibition venues\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0large number, which\u00a0underscored the growing interest in Pakistan\u2019s higher education system and reflected strong goodwill between the two nations. The delegation\u00a0also\u00a0engaged directly with\u00a0thousands\u00a0of aspiring students, school principals, and parents, sparking renewed motivation among Bangladeshi youth to pursue higher education.<\/p>\n

A key focus of the visit is the promotion of the prestigious Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Programme\u00a0for Bangladeshi nationals, offered under the broader framework of Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.<\/p>\n
