London, UK (PNI) Fahim Kayani, President of the All Parties International Kashmir Coordination Committee (APIKCC) and President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) UK, has urged all supporters of Kashmir to contact their Members of Parliament and request them to sign Early Day Motion (EDM) 2184, tabled on 30 October 2025 by Imran Hussain MP.<\/p>\n
The motion, which highlights the ongoing human rights crisis in Indian-occupied Kashmir, has so far been signed by 34 MPs. The signatories include:<\/p>\n

EDM 2184 calls on Parliament to commemorate Kashmir Black Day (27 October), marked globally as a day of mourning and solidarity and representing the beginning of Kashmir\u2019s political subjugation in 1947. The motion:<\/p>\n
* Recognises the continuing Kashmiri struggle for self-determination as upheld in UN Security Council resolutions.
\n* Highlights decades of human rights violations, arbitrary detentions and repression carried out under laws such as the Public Safety Act and the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act.
\n* Raises concern over the ongoing detention of Kashmiri political leaders, journalists and civil society activists, many held without charge or access to a fair trial.
\n* Criticises successive UK governments for failing to give Kashmir the diplomatic attention it requires.
\n* Asserts that any lasting peace must include the voices and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
\n* Calls on the UK Government to fulfil its moral, historic and legal obligations to support a just resolution and ensure the Kashmiri people\u2019s right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
Kayani stressed that broader parliamentary backing is vital to keeping the Kashmir issue alive in Westminster and encouraged community members to urge their MPs to add their names to the motion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
