ISLAMABAD, Apr 07 :Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Monday promoted ten Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) in a landmark step, marking the first time in the force\u2019s history such a promotion has been made at this scale.
\nAn official told APP that a formal ceremony was held at the Police Lines Headquarters, where Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conferred the new ranks upon the promoted officers. Senior police officials, families, and well-wishers of the officers attended the event, making it a memorable occasion.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the ceremony, IG Rizvi congratulated the officers and said, \u201cWhen your shoulders shine, your hearts will glow, and the faces of your children will shine with happiness. That is my primary goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI pray that you do justice to the rank you have received. May your children see you as their hero and your mother feel proud of you,\u201d IG Rizvi added, addressing the officers with warmth and sincerity.
\nIG Rizvi said the Islamabad Police would continue to support the welfare of its personnel. \u201cWe will ensure you receive promotions and rewards, and even have any penalties reviewed\u2014but in return, you must renew your oath to eliminate criminals, provide swift justice to citizens, and ensure the protection of their lives and property.\u201d
\nIG Rizvi emphasized that true service lies in pleasing Allah Almighty through dedication to public welfare. \u201cThis department is made up of martyrs and heroes. We are not afraid of becoming either\u2014we are here to write tales of bravery,\u201d he declared.
\n\u201cPromotions are a trust from Allah,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis is a sacred department, and we must fulfill our responsibilities without hesitation and without showing the slightest weakness.\u201d
\nFollowing the special direction of the IG Rizvi families of the promoted officers were invited to witness the milestone event, highlighting the department\u2019s commitment to inclusivity and appreciation for their sacrifices.
\nIG Rizvi reiterated that departmental promotion is the fundamental right of every police officer and assured that those who have completed their departmental courses would be promoted on merit and seniority to vacant positions.
