Islamabad, February 17, 2025: The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC, concluded its two-week Faculty Development Programme (Tier-II) for Associate Professors from Public Sector Universities of the Federal and KP region held at the HEC Regional Centre, Peshawar.<\/p>\n
The two-week programme was designed to empower mid-career faculty as Trainers of Trainers (TOT), equipping them with advanced andragogical techniques, innovative research strategies, and essential leadership competencies to meet the evolving demands of higher education. Through eight specialized modules and 40 engaging sessions, participants were equipped with innovative andragogical techniques and digital tools, preparing them to become master trainers who can cascade their enhanced skills and knowledge across their institutions.<\/p>\n
The closing and certificate distribution ceremony was honored by the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, renowned academician and former Vice Chancellor of AIOU, as chief guest whose inspirational address highlighted the critical role of continuous professional development in advancing academic excellence. Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General, HEC Regional Centre, Peshawar, welcomed Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui and the participants. He also highlighted the programme\u2019s profound impact on enhancing academic excellence. His remarks reaffirmed the critical role of faculty development in driving institutional transformation and sustainable progress in Pakistan\u2019s higher education sector.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Siddiqui commended NAHE Team launching the impactful program, emphasizing the critical role of university faculty in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals for the evolving global landscape. He expressed confidence that the training would provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to share with students and fellow faculty members, will further strengthen the academic community.<\/p>\n
NAHE\u2019s Faculty Development Programme Tier-II not only enriches the individual capabilities of faculty members but also sets the stage for a cascading effect of knowledge and innovation across universities nationwide. This initiative is a concrete evidence of HEC\u2019s dedicated efforts in fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and sustainable development in higher education.<\/p>\n
Over the course of the two-week training, participants engaged in eight specialized modules including Ensuring Excellence in Higher Education Teaching, Effective Academic Planning & Implementation Strategies, Psychological and Educational Strategies for Teacher and Student Development, Effective Organizational Communication, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for Enhancing Andragogical Skills, Research Excellence & Innovation, Assessment & Evaluation (Digital Tools), and Higher Educational Administration and Management.<\/p>\n
Utilizing modern andragogical techniques and digital tools, the sessions fostered active participation and collaborative learning, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to disseminate their knowledge within their institutions.<\/p>\n
