NEW DELHI, JAN 02 (ONLINE): Ahan Shetty was set to star in ‘Sanki’ with Pooja Hegde, but the project was reconsidered by producer Sajid Nadiadwala due to poor market conditions and high production costs. Subsequently, ‘Sanki’ was not included in Nadiadwala Grandson’s 2025 film slate. Ahan will now appear in ‘Border 2’ with Sunny Deol and others.

\nPost his debut with Tadap, Ahan Shetty was supposed to be seen on the big screen next with Pooja Hegde for a film called Sanki. The film was backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, and directed by Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah. The film was announced last year at an event held by the streamer Amazon Prime Video, and was slated to release on Valentine\u2019s Day this year.

\nBut some time in July , reports began to filter that the producer was having second thoughts about the film. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, Sajid was reconsidering the film due to a weak market and lower-than-expected satellite and digital revenues, despite a bulk Amazon Prime deal. The tipping point was Ahan\u2019s exorbitant entourage costs (hair, makeup, stylist, etc.), billed to production, leading Sajid to threaten canceling the project, citing poor business viability. Though Suniel Shetty did step in to cover up the costs, but it seems all this has now gone to waste.<\/p>\n
Sajid Nadiadwala\u2019s company Nadiadwala Grandson recently took to social media to share the slate of their upcoming films in 2025 which includes Salman Khan starrer Sikandar, Akshay Kumar led Housefull 5, Tiger Shroff\u2019s return with Baaghi 4 and Shahid Kapoor\u2019s untitled film. But there was no mention of Sanki which was slated to release on 14th February. Another sign that Sanki is not currently on is that the actress Pooja Hegde, back in October itself went ahead and signed Thalapathy Vijay\u2019s final film which has been titled as Thalapathy 69. The film also stars Bobby Deol as the negative lead.
