{"id":115658,"date":"2024-10-22T17:16:23","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T12:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=115658"},"modified":"2024-10-22T17:16:23","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T12:16:23","slug":"secp-alerts-public-to-fraudulent-investment-deposit-taking-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/latest-business-news\/secp-alerts-public-to-fraudulent-investment-deposit-taking-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"SECP alerts Public to fraudulent investment\/ deposit taking platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD, Oct 22  :The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has identified an illegal investment\/deposit-taking platform operating under the name \u201cSMARTPAYS\u201d.<br \/>\nThe platform is being promoted through a website (https:\/\/smartpays.org\/.), falsely claiming provision of substantial returns on investment\/ deposit schemes being offered through the platform, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.<br \/>\nSMARTPAYS also falsely claims to be a licensed non-banking finance company and displays a fake Certificate of Incorporation on its website with the name \u201cSMART FINANCE (PRIVATE) LIMITED\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Public is informed that \u201cSMARTPAYS\/ SMART FINANCE (PRIVATE) LIMITED\u201d is neither registered nor licensed by SECP as a non-banking finance company.<br \/>\nSECP hereby warns the public not to deposit or invest funds with \u201cSMARTPAYS\/ SMART FINANCE (PRIVATE) LIMITED\u201d or any such other illegal investment\/deposit-taking platform in whatsoever form and whatsoever arrangement.<br \/>\nThe name \u201cSMARTPAYS\/ SMART FINANCE (PRIVATE) LIMITED \u201d has been added to the \u201cList of Companies engaged in Unauthorized Activities\u201d available on SECP\u2019s website.
