ISLAMABAD, May 14 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the petition filed against arrest of former federal minister Shireen Mazari by Anti Corruption Punjab. <\/p>\n
The petition against arrest of Shireen Mazari from Islamabad in 2022 came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Faisal Chaudhry and Emman Mazari counsels for the petitioner appeared in the court. <\/p>\n
Additional Attorney General (AAG) Munawar Iqbal Duggal also appeared in the court <\/p>\n
During the hearing of the case the court inquired from Anti Corruption Punjab (ACP) authorities had your team come to arrest her.
\nACP authorities replied we had come to arrest on May 21, 2022. We had issued notice to Shireen Mazari following the registration of FIR. We informed Deputy Commissioner (DC) before arresting her. Police of police station Kohsar was with us. <\/p>\n
AAG took the plea Anti corruption authorities should have taken her magistrate after her arrest. <\/p>\n
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked when the arrest of some one is declared wrong then what will be its status what had happened during arrest. We are only seeing this if the arrest was made correct or incorrect from our jurisdiction in Islamabad. If some other province wants arrest then will any one from outside come and take away. This way how can some one arrest from other province . This happened so that they lifted a man from the court. They broke the doors and things. Was arrest made this way. Then Supreme Court (SC) had declared that arrest illegal. <\/p>\n
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani while moving to AAG remarked what is happening today it will be happening with others after two years. But we will be sitting here. This is matter of time. This is cycle. Tomorrow who are standing this side will be standing on other side. Who are in government today, the time will change tomorrow and they may have been lifted. <\/p>\n
The real thing is this the elected representatives should have learnt not to do wrong work. They are given protection for this that they could refuse to do wrong job. <\/p>\n
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked no one will come to save them tomorrow. They will face the situation. They have done what they were to do. They made harassment and got medals too. We could not hold inquiry what happened inside the court. <\/p>\n
Counsel Faisal Chaudhry said here no case of court has been registered. <\/p>\n
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked Shireen Mazari commission has recommended action. We have to move ahead in the light of commission report and court decision. <\/p>\n
