{"id":106599,"date":"2024-05-13T23:00:32","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T18:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=106599"},"modified":"2024-05-13T18:13:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T13:13:46","slug":"lhc-issues-notice-to-respondents-on-petition-filed-against-establishment-of-examination-centers-for-girls-students-in-remote-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/pakistan-news\/lhc-issues-notice-to-respondents-on-petition-filed-against-establishment-of-examination-centers-for-girls-students-in-remote-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"LHC issues notice to respondents on petition filed against establishment of examination centers for girls students  in remote areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE, May 13 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the respondents on the petition filed against setting up examination centers for girls students  far away from their residential areas.<\/p>\n<p>Petition filed by citizen Muhammad Mubashar Safdar came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led  by Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Punjab government, secretary education, secretary school education and chairperson Punjab Examination Commission (PEC)  have been made respondents in the petition. <\/p>\n<p>The petition said examination centers for girls students in connection with Matric and Intermediate examinations are being set up 10 kilometers  away from their residential areas. Setting up examination centers for girls students at long distance runs contrary to education policy.  Establishing examination centers for girls students 10 kilometers  away from their residences is negation of the constitution too. <\/p>\n<p>It was further said in the petition that constitution guarantees for promotion of education for girls.  But setting up examination centers in remote areas create problems.  The examination centers for the  girls students be set up close to their residential areas. <\/p>\n<p>Rana Sikandar advocate gave arguments in the court on behalf of the petitioner Muhammad Mubashar Safdar. <\/p>\n<p>Counsel for Punjab government while giving arguments said we have no policy with reference to it. <\/p>\n<p>Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh remarked if there is no policy then it will be made  .
