{"id":106141,"date":"2024-04-29T19:52:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=106141"},"modified":"2024-04-29T19:52:12","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:52:12","slug":"ffc-announces-first-quarterly-results-for-year-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/latest-business-news\/ffc-announces-first-quarterly-results-for-year-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"FFC Announces First Quarterly Results for Year 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced its financial results for the first\u00a0quarter ended March 31, 2024 in its Board of Directors\u2019 meeting held on April 29, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Sona Urea production by the Company stood at 654 thousand tonnes, whereas, sales were\u00a0recorded at 661 thousand tonnes 5% higher than 2023. The Company also marketed 94\u00a0thousand tonnes urea imported by the Government for steady supply of urea to the\u00a0farmers. Aggregate urea sales of the Company thus stood at 755 thousand tonnes\u00a0compared to 631 thousand tonnes of same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>Higher sales volume besides increase in selling prices due to significant escalation in gas\u00a0prices towards close of last year resulted in higher sales revenue of Rs 58.4 billion\u00a0compared to Rs 36.4 billion same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>High cost of imported urea, inflation and higher gas prices caused the cost of sales to\u00a0increase by 88% to Rs 41.1 billion. Distribution cost also surged by 70% to Rs 5.2 billion\u00a0mainly due to the implementation of Axle Weight Regulation and impact of inflation. The\u00a0increase in Super tax levy by Finance Act 2023 led to higher effective tax rate of 42%\u00a0compared to 35% same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the performance is record return on investments and dividend income\u00a0aggregating to Rs 10.3 billion. As a result, net profitability of FFC stood at Rs 10.5 billion\u00a0with earnings per share of Rs 8.27 compared to Rs 6.08 per share same period last year.\u00a0Profitability in dollar terms at USD 38 million, however, remained static at the level of\u00a02021.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Directors of FFC has announced first interim dividend of Rs 5.5 per share, for\u00a0the first quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced its financial results for the first\u00a0quarter ended March 31, 2024 in its Board of Directors\u2019 meeting held on April 29, 2024.
