ISLAMABAD, March 29 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has wrapped up the petition regarding privacy of PTI founder in jail and meeting with him through video link. The court gave time to amicus curiae for preparations in connection with Sher Afzal Marwat petition challenging clause 265 of jai l rules. The report regarding meeting with PTI founder on March 26 and 28 was filed in the court. <\/p>\n
The court remarked the petitioners are satisfied . We wrap up the petition regarding meeting with PTI founder in jail.
\nThe court remarked the plea of amicus curiae for granting him time for preparations in connection with the petition through which clause related to jail rules has been challenged. The court got written in its order that the amicus curiae Zainab Janjua presented before it Indian courts judgments with reference to jail rules . In the decisions of Indian courts political talk in the jail has been allowed. <\/p>\n
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan took up the petitions for hearing Friday.
\nAmicus curiae Zainab Janjua appeared in the court.
\nSher Afzal Marwat did not appear in the court and his junior advocate appeared.
\nSuperintendent Adiala Jail Asad Warraich filed the report regarding meeting with Imran Khan in jail.
\nAG told the court that “we have worked out SOPs with mutual consultation. You should appreciate our response. <\/p>\n
Justice Sardar Ijaz remarked you could do this job earlier.
\nAG told the court they had finalized SOPs within two days.
\nWith reference to rules, the definition of clause 265 is different in Punjab government.
\nThe amicus curiae said on web site permission has not been given for two times meeting in a week in jail. <\/p>\n
In the book of jail rules , it is allowed to have meeting again.
\nAdvocate General said there are two to three books with reference to jail rules and their authors are different too.
\nThe amicus curiae told the court according to SOPs given on web site in respect of superior class prisoners only one time meeting in a week is allowed. It is written in online rules that political talk is not allowed. According to website rules 6 persons can have meeting. As per jail rules two meetings in a week are allowed. <\/p>\n
Justice Ijaz remarked it is beyond comprehension that why the online meeting is being opposed. One line is written in rule and you people are insisting on it that we have not to do this. This line can be rectified in an hour.
