\nActor Priyamani has reacted to those who call Article 370 \u2018propaganda\u2019 and also shared the “main reason” on why she decided to do the film. Speaking to News18, she said that earlier, she was “one of the ignorant ones” as she didn’t know much about the abrogation of Article 370. Priyamani said, \u201cSome people are going to say, \u2018Oh, this is raising awareness. People need to know these stories.\u2019 And then, there\u2019s always going to be a section that will say, \u2018This is absolutely propaganda.\u2019 When we took on this film or when we decided that we wanted to be a part of this film, I think the main reason was that we wanted to tell people, \u2018Listen there\u2019s something like this which has gone down in history and not many people know about it\u2019. I\u2019m sure people knew about it but they didn\u2019t know what people went through, what steps were taken to see to it that this mission was a success.”<\/p>\n

\nWhy Priyamani called herself ‘very insensitive’
\nPriyamani also revealed that earlier, she didn\u2019t know much about the mission. \u201cI was one of the ignorant ones. It was very insensitive of me. I was not privy to such things earlier. I had thought to myself, \u2018Okay, great, the article is abrogated\u2019 but I didn\u2019t know the gravity of it. Today, I do,\u201d she had added.<\/p>\n
Helmed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film hit theatres globally on February 23. The film stars Yami Gautam, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar in lead roles. Article 370 is backed by Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar\u2019s banner B62 Studios. The drama is “inspired by true events that shaped the fate of Kashmir\u201d.
