LAHORE, Jan 15 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has wrapped up petitions seeking abolition of care taker set up in Punjab and constitution of new care taker set up declaring them in-fructuous in the light of reply from federation counsel. <\/p>\n
The petitions filed by Sheikh Rashid and Zaman Virdig came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Karim. <\/p>\n
Federal government, election commission and governor Punjab have been made respondents in the petitions. <\/p>\n
The petitioner took the plea the sitting government has completed its tenure after Supreme Court (SC) order for holding election on May 14 in Punjab. No care taker set up can stay after 90 days. The incumbent care taker government is working illegally and unconstitutionally in Punjab.
\nThe care taker government of Punjab be abolished forthwith and order be issued for establishment of new interim set up in Punjab. <\/p>\n
The counsel for federal government argued the said matter is pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) too. SC has given order to hold election. Election schedule has been issued. The elections are going to be held on February 8. <\/p>\n
The court wrapped up the petition declaring it in-fructuous in the light of reply from counsel of federation.

\nWe will not boycott election come what may: Babar Awan <\/p>\n
ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (Online): PTI leader and senior lawyer Babar Awan has made it clear we will not boycott election come what may. <\/p>\n
” PTI will not boycott election at any cost. Bat has been snatched from us and pitch has been uprooted, he said this while talking to media men in Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday.<\/p>\n
He held Nawaz Sharif has already fought with two chiefs. No stability will come in the country if he comes to power. If election are held this way then the government will not be able to run for two months. <\/p>\n
He went on to say the largest party of Pakistan was deprived of election symbol due to technicality and not due to law and constitution. If some party works against solidarity and integrity then reference will be sent against it.
\nUnfortunately what symbol election commission has selected they are too violation of article 14 of the constitution. Somewhere there is turnip , somewhere shoes. You can see what symbols have been chosen.
\nThis is first election in the history of Pakistan that neither there is major batsman nor bat.
\nVoters are being punished. Those who were aspired to contest election were punished. <\/p>\n
He remarked a mouse and cat game is running across Pakistan. <\/p>\n
The coming parliament cannot sustain for two months. <\/p>\n
