Musarat Alam,Yasin Malik, Asiya Andrabi and Shabir Shah are symbol of Kashmir’s Azadi from India, following legacy of our great leaders Geelani and Sehrai: Kashmiri diaspora

Birmingham (PNI) “If seeking Azadi from illegal military occupation of India is a crime, we are ready to commit this crime, time and again,” said Kashmiri diaspora members during a protest demonstration against fascist Indian court ruling against Kashmiri Leader Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Addressing a pro-freedom demonstration in the UK on Friday, Kashmiri diaspora leader Fahim Kayani said the freedom struggle against Indian occupation is morally correct, legitimate and genuine backed by international law and UN resolutions.

“The court ruling against esteemed Muhammad Yasin Malik is vindication of our stand that the Indian judiciary is part of the immoral military regime of India that illegally occupies Jammu and Kashmir,” said Kayani, president of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK which hosted the demonstration in solidarity with Malik and all political prisoners.

Yasin Malik and all other Hurriyat Leaders have been illegally detained by India in a jail in New Delhi for past several years.

“The so-called Indian judiciary has framed charges and convicted Malik, who is symbol of peaceful struggle against Indian occupation of Kashmir , for fake charges,” said Kayani.

“Kashmir neither was nor is part of India, thus, these cases are a mockery on the face of India, its judiciary, its military and civil establishment besides its civil society,” said Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK leader.

When the fascist Indian court read its conviction, said Kayani, “Excellency Malik Sahib stood tall and confident against these nefarious charges.

“Terrorism-related charges levelled against me are concocted, fabricated and politically motivated,” Malik told the court, “If seeking Azadi (freedom) is a crime, then I am ready to accept this crime and its consequences,” Malik told the judge.

Kayani said that India has used such tactics against Kashmiri resistance leadership in past “but still then the aspiration of Azadi from fascist Indian state could not be suppressed.”

“Kashmiris take pride in standing for their inalienable right of freedom and right to self-determination,” said Qamar Abbas , president of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Birmingham .

“The statement by Excellency Malik is evidence of this fact that nothing, no power can change the minds of Kashmiris who have resolved to stand up and push India out of their homeland i.e. Jammu and Kashmir,” said Qamar, addressing the demonstrations.

Referring to custodial murder of Syed Ali Geelani and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Khawajah Khawajah Suleman founding member TeK UK said: “India murdered Shaheed Geelani Sahib in his home where he was under illegal house arrest while Shaheed Sehrai was put in a jail in Udhampur where he was neither given proper food nor proper medicine and India killed him inside the custody.”

“Despite being in old age, suffering from various ailments, our leaders did not budge or change their stand on right to self-determination and Excellency Malik Sahib is following the same legacy that, come what may, Kashmiris will never give up their demand for Azadi from India,” said Ch Ikram ul haq Secretary General Tehreek-e-Kashmir Birmingham .

Warning international community that India might use these fake cases to legalize its illegal occupation, Shabir Hussain member CEC TeK UK paid tributes to Kashmiri political prisoners including All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Masarat Alam, Shabir Shah, Asiya Andrabi, Dr Qasim Faktoo, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nahida Nasreen, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Fantosh , Zafar Akbar Bhat and others.

“These leaders are our ideals who stand like Wall against Indian military might,” Khawajah added.

“What is happening in India is that Indian judiciary has collaborated with military regime in IIoJK and is criminalizing any voice that draws inspiration from UN-backed right to self-determination,” said Kayani. “This is complete violation of the international law and UN resolutions by the so-called Indian judiciary which should serve as a cause of concern for the international community.”

Kayani urged the international community to take immediate steps and intervene in India so as “to save international system which is being brazenly violated by India.”
